Purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) an aggressive evading species. I haven't seen this around the Gowganda area until today, in the ditch near Hedlund Marsh.Only a few plants but it is enough to get them started. Check the link to learn more.
It has a beautiful inflorescence and when I translated the word strife, I understand that the flowers name could be "solving conflicts" and that is a wonderful name for a flower, isn't it.
