The edges of the main highway and bush roads are putting on a show of Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium) these days, and the blueberries are ready for picking. What more could you ask for.
Bill, Was up there last week and ate quite a few blueberries. Had a good visit with friends Gert & Paul, and great time fishing with Ed. Question for you, when you go into Diabase Lake, do you go in from the road or is there a path thru the weedbeds on Obushkon?
Sue, There is a trail south of Diabase that takes you right to the lake, by ATV. There is also a creek that runs to Obushkon, but there are at least 3 beaver dams to pull over. Canoes only.
My late husband & I used to canoe into the weeds and cast for Northerns. Ed had a map that showed the creek going into Diabase but we had never found that so I was curious if you could really get in from there. Thanks
great pictures again but where will i find all those blueberries?
