With the last couple of heavy frosts the trees are starting to turn colour. Some pics from along the road.

The leaves changing colour is really spectacular right now. I remember climbing the hill blueberry picking with my mom and later as teens, climbing there just to sit and look around talking with your friends. Thanks for the memory!
Like I've told you before, our nature follows your vet much and looks almost the same. The maple is my favorite now but they are usually planted so we don't have them out in the forest. I associate that tree with Canada but does it grew everywhere where you live?
Hi Ella, Just came back in from taking some pics of the Milky Way. There are several species of Maples depending were you are in Canada. In Gowganda we have mostly Red Maple as you can see by the pictures. Further south the Sugar Maple and the Norway Maple and Silver Maple just to mention a few. All provinces of Canada have Maple trees.
First time in Gowganda was 1968 with the Dept. of Lands and Forests, doing a soil and vegetation study for the Wildlife Productivity Inventory. While here found the country amazing, the boreal forest the lakes at every turn and the air clean and fresh. It didn't take long back then to get the camera out and start recording some of the sights I'd seen. Since then with a few layoffs in photography its good to get right back at it. Putting your pictures on a blog like this forces you to go out and take more pics, which is the goal of this site.
