Not much warmer in Sudbury as it was in Gowganda. Low night temperatures with slow rising day temps and winds make for cold days, kripes it's the end of March. Not a lot of pic taking these days but a few taken remotely with my camera right at the feeder. The first bird is a pine siskin. This year between the Redpolls, Siskins and Grosbeaks they have eaten about 200 lbs of black sunflower seeds.

Into town today
As you know I dislike going to town, it takes more time driving to than the shopping. I usually only make the trip every two weeks if I could get away with it would be once a month. Anyway these pictures are just west of New Liskeard on Highway 65 and is a huge outcrop right next to the clay belt. It's called Hooper's Hill or I have heard it called Triangle Hill, there is a hiking path to the top that should yield some good pics one day.

Feels like spring finally
This AM sun very bright and you could feel the heat. During the day it got warm enough to melt quite a bit of the driveway. The snow is going down quickly, tomorrow it will rain that will knock the snow down.
I spent the day doing more drywall, the ceiling is finished and all the walls are up.This is all I can do for now. Time for the mudding and sanding.
Took a few pics down by the store and one of the new toy in town the new trail groomer said to cost over $150,ooo. To bad the season was too short and a lack of snow, maybe next year.

New cut east of town
Walked into a new cut just east of town, the start of the road is one from a cut years ago and they have extended it to just short of Stumpy lake. This will only be a winter haul road and they will be closing it up with berms etc. It also goes through quite a few wet spots too. The cut starts about 3km down from the highway. Lots of wood cut ready to haul before the road breaks up. I never made all the way to the end of the road so they must be still cutting further down. Couple of pics of the cut area and a delimber.

The winds of March coming in like a lion
Finally got the drywall on behind the stairs not a fun job. All that is left is the short ceiling sections and that will be it for a while. Out this AM for a trek into Miller Lake on the snowmobile trail. Staying out of the very strong south wind you can sort of feel the heat in the sun if you are out of the wind. Couple of pics walking in, one on the lake east of the landing and another old car which I haven't seen before probably watching the trail while ATVing or the brush and leaves that would cover it in the summer. I believe it is a 37 Plymouth 4 door. Notice the rear door is a suicide door. I leave this open to the old car experts to tell me differently.
