- First time in Gowganda was 1968 with the Dept. of Lands and Forests, doing a soil and vegetation study for the Wildlife Productivity Inventory. While here found the country amazing, the boreal forest the lakes at every turn and the air clean and fresh. It didn't take long back then to get the camera out and start recording some of the sights I'd seen. Since then with a few layoffs in photography its good to get right back at it. Putting your pictures on a blog like this forces you to go out and take more pics, which is the goal of this site. For more on GOWGANDA check out (((www.gowganda.net)))

Where is Diabase Lake? All my years coming up there, I've never been there. It looks beautiful, how's the fishing there?
Bill ahs there been any fishing success yet or is the water still too cold ?
Diabase is one of our favorite lakes to go into. My question is, how did you get to the spot on land where you did the video? That is quite a distance from the main trail...or at least what I know of the trail there. Is there another trail from the main one off the road? Is there a trail from Edith? We were looking at the maps last night. We will be up in July...cannot wait to get up there...I'm slightly obsessed with Gowganda and all it's wonder. Thank you for having the blog...the pictures keep me going!!
Karen Diabase is just 3.5km west from my house on the north side of the road, there is a trail down to the lake.
