Temiskaming District Visitors Guide 2013

Submitted pictures a couple of months ago to find that 3 of mine had been chosen this year.  All were taken around Gowganda at the north powerline west of town, on Gowganda Lake fishing and canoeing on the Montreal River.

Congratulations but with that good looking group of ATVers your pic was a shoe-in.

Hi Bill, a couple years back on your blog I commented on the road in to Stumpy. You told me that one could get to Stumpy by way of Beauty Lake Road. Approximately how long by vehicle would that take from the main road? You also said that it was about 150 feet walk to the lake...is that path real difficult to maneuver? We will be up in a month and are just wanting to go into some different lakes. Thanks for your hep, Karen

Karen,
Starting at the Beauty Lake Rd it is about 35km down. It would be difficult to take anything larger than a 12 ft boat for me. The path goes trough a bit of bush like a portage trail. Talk is that this is an unauthorized access and will be cleaned out of boats if not already. No way to use a trailer to put your boat in either if you decide to go with that option. Bill.
