Again no luck for whitefish, can't figure out what's happening. Ice off to early, weather too nice, lousy fisherman, who knows. Good time to take some pictures, here is a couple from this AM. Horsetail starting to sprout and some kind of gear wheel.

Those horsetail ferns are positively primeval. Better luck next time with the fishing.
What is a horsetail fern used for ?

I think the Indians used to tie them in bunches and use them as a scouring brush.
