Hunting and Picture taking Duncan Lake Dam

Out this afternoon for some shooting, camera and gun. Panorama of the Duncan Lake Dam (click of the picture) which holds back water for Ontario Hydro. A plaque on the side of the water control section says it was built in 1966. On the hunting side a good day with 4 ruffed grouse.

I wonder if your ruffed grouse is what we call "dalripa" which means valley grouse in Sweden.

Ella,
Your "dalripa" is the same bird as our Willow Ptarmigan which is only found further north around James and Hudson's Bay. Here is a link to Ruffed Grouse and it's range www.dnr.sc.gov/cwcs/pdf/ruffedgrouse.pdf. I would think they would taste the same as both birds have similar diets.
