Great star gazing last nite

Last night the stars were bright and the Milky Way crossed the sky from south west to north east.  Very little haze and NO Mosquitos.  Took a few shots of the stars and Milky Way.  Best viewing of the whole summer.

The bright star in the last pic above the left tree is Altair and is the 12th brightest star in the night sky, it also rotates at 286km/sec at it's equator for anyone that really wants to know.

I use a Canon DSLR for night pics. My settings Bulb on the control Dial, your lowest setting for aperture mine is f2.8,iso 1600,and exposure time of 20 seconds. I use a remote timer that opens the shutter for 20 sec, interval 1 sec and then another 20sec. You can do that just by pressing the shutter button for 20 sec. A great site on the web that explains it easier is http://www.davidkingham.com/blog/2013/7/photograph-the-2013-perseids-meteor-shower. Hope this helps, Bill Use a tripod for the pics too
