West on Hwy 560
Out to take some pics with all the new snow. We have well over a foot of snow now, had to snoblo again this AM. More snow the the next couple of days in the forecast. The lakes have enough ice but the slush is very bad. There are some air holes to look out for too. Hope we have some sunshine soon.

does the slush ever leave ? And what do you mean by air hoels to look out for ?
Ron, The slush comes up through cracks and holes in the ice when it snows. The weight of the snow pushes the water up on top of the ice voila slush.
Air holes are holes in the ice caused by springs under the ice or sometimes gases coming out of boggy areas.
Thanks Bill. Learn somewthing everyday
So also I'll assume that the slush then gradually freezes and the ice keeps getting thicker till sooner or later the water can not come up ?
